- Where do the figures come from?
- US government sources: the Census Bureau, the Energy Information Administration, the Department of Agriculture, the US Geological Survey and NOAA. Each map names its source and year.
- Why does D.C. sit out?
- It is a city, and a city wins every map about city life, like walking or riding a train to work. The questions ask for a state.
- What is my home area?
- The state or country your score counts for on the board. It comes from your connection, and you can change it on your first visit.
- What is the board?
- States and countries with 30 or more players that day, by average score.
- When is there a new puzzle?
- Every day at midnight Eastern time, for everyone at once.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your streak and stats stay on this device. Clearing your browser data clears them too.
- Why can I only play once a day?
- Everyone gets the same puzzle, so everyone is compared fairly. Past puzzles can be replayed in the archive for practice.
